Classic Pancakes

These fluffy, golden pancakes are perfect for a weekend breakfast treat. Top with maple syrup, fresh berries, or chocolate chips for a delicious morning meal.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
- Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake.
- Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges are dry, about 2-3 minutes.
- Flip and cook until browned on the other side, about 1-2 minutes more.
- Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
Chef's Tips
- For extra fluffy pancakes, let the batter rest for 5-10 minutes before cooking.
- Don't overmix the batter - a few lumps are okay!
- Make sure your pan is properly heated before adding the batter.
